Mrs Samuel - Latu

Today we had Mrs Samuel - Latu to award the Yr 5 students who have great attitude towards learning and more. They were awarded a present and $40 towards their chromebook for next year. 

The last person got a uniform set for next year and a deposit towards their chromebook. This person was Aleki.

Tech With Mrs Kolo

Today we did not have Mrs Tuipulotu because she was sick so we had Mrs Kolo. Today we didn' t do cooking so we had to do some work about cooking such as word searches and much more we even got to draw what we would like for breakfast and dinner. We then got to watch youtube, I hope Mrs Tuipukotu come next week.

Summer Learning Journey

Yesterday we had a lady come to our school to tell us about Summer Learning Journey. The Summer Learning Journey is designed to keep our brain working during the holidays. Every week we get a new topic to based on our planet such as litter and much more.

Armistice Day

The WW1 ending was the start of armistice day and it is celebrated oneday of the year and that is  11th of November. There was over 10k people that died that day and 1k were injured when the war came to an end, injured were safer than they were and they even could get better treatment and a better chance of surviving

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Today Ruapotaka school went ot the theatre to watch other schools movies. We saw many movies, but the one I thought was the best was our school because we had a meaning and a reason as to why we chose to make a movie relating to Malaga Journey To Success we chose it because it was hooked onto learning.

Tennis With Coach Pett

Yesterday we had tennis with coach Pett and we had a very fun time. We were taught outstanding skills such as the rally, it was dificult but when you listen and watch how it is done it will be very easy. We were getting better as we went along and we ended tennis with a well done.

Speeches

Speeches are coming up. I don't want to go up on stage because it horrifies me that everyone is going to be sitting there just staring at me. It'll be so embarrassing if I do something wrong. I just don't think I have the skills and potential to do it, but I have to because everyone has to do one and who knows I might be picked for the finals.

Fearwell Coach Renee Ursem

Coach Renee if you are reading this I hope you have had alot of fun teaching us how to play volleyball.
We have experienced alot of new things such as the Under Arm, Over Arm, Dig, Set and the Spike.
When I heard that it was the last day for volleyball I was not excited because we had alot of exciting moments with you hope we see you again.

Pokemon Adventures Of Emerald

Bash Bash Revolution

Seventeen year old Matthew Munson's a high school dropout, doing little with his time but playing an outdated video game called Bash Bash Revolution and hanging around dairy queen with his girlfriend Sally. That is, until his missing dad turns up.

Vollyball

On Tuesday Room 12 had volleyball with coach Renee. We were learning how do a Dig and how to do a Set. We then got into a group of three, The three people that was in my group was Katrina, Konzay and I. After that and we got we had to go on the mat and tell coach Renee how many Digs and Sets we got and my group got 40.

Class skipping practise

Last week Room 12 were practising skipping for our display. First we had to do ten skips forward and backwards. We then had to do ten skips forwards and backwards side to side then split into to our skipping group.

We then split into our skipping groups to practise our skipping routines. First it was me and Henry running and jumping in and doing take the L from Fortnite. After that we had to run out and let Konzay go in. He then had to do best mates but still needs to improve.

School Powhiri

Last week we had a Powhiri for with juniors so that they can experience what a Powhiri is like. We were getting the hall ready for the welcoming and one of the prefects were welcoming in the teachers. We then sang some songs and listened to what the teachers had to say.

Most people were maori and it was my first time being part of a Powhiri and it was really cool to experience what would be done in actual Powhiri When they finished the prefects then recieved a hongi from the teacher.

Paper weaving baskets

In Room 12 we were working on a paper weaved basket which looked very cool but was very hard. We then watched a video on how to make the basket. As soon as we finished watching it we would then get what ever we needed for our basket.

We then went to get our stuff we needed for our paper basket so that we can ready to make it. We were finding it hard to make but we still got throught i tand finished this is the final results.

I was so happy to the last results I felt as happy as the happiest person in the world.

School Reports

Today at school we had our school reports. Some of us had good reports and some of us had bad. I really
felt happy to see my report but at the same time I felt nervous. After that we had to go in to the class and
talk to your teacher about your report and I felt sad because my report was bad and not much of it was good

I really want to step my game up since it is the last week of school

At the park

Last weekend my family and I went to the park. When we were getting ready we had a little trouble starting the car because it had been sitting in the same spot for a long time. We then got the car going and we hit the road to the park at Dunkirk. After we arrived at the park we had to eat before we went and played but the rest of my family hadn't finished eating so we just played the day away.

Paper Weaving

At school we were working on an easter basket that was made from paper. We were sent a video which we needed to watch. After watching the whole video we then had to get four pieces of paper, a ruler, a pair of scissors and a stick glue. We gathered everything we needed and started creating the basket.

It was difficult but cool at the same time.

Buddy Reading With Room 1

       Buddy Reading

Today we went to Room 1 for buddy reading. When we got there we had to pair up with a Room 1 student. My partner was Tatianna and a helper from Room 12, Konzay. As soon as we had our buddy, they had to read a book to us. While they read the book we had to listen and observe to what they were doing. We then finished and we had to tell Room 1's teacher, Mrs Pederson what they did good. We then went back to our class to do our blogs and finish the rest of our work.

Work At Night At Hira Bhana

At night I go to work with my dad and we work at Hira Bhana. We do some planting on the farm so we can provide the markets with vegetables and some fruit.
I can drive a tractor while my dad, uncles, and cousins select the ripe fruits and vegetables. After the adults have their turn at picking the fruit and vegetables we have our chance to prove that we can correctly pick the food supplies for the markets,  as well as letting  the adults have a break.

Our Duffy Book Selection

Each student in Room 12 got to pick four duffy books. There was a whole pile of alternate books I could choose from. 

There were many cool books but I could only choose three. I thought to myself why cant we pick more than four books? When I was searching through the pages I found two books but still didnt find my third book so I just sat there and waited for my name to get called.

It was getting close to my name so I quickly scanned through the pages and picked a random book about a minecraft zombie. When I was finished felt calm once again 

Boxing

Commonwealth Games: Taylah Robertson

The boxer Taylah Robertson has claimed Australia's first medal of the Commonwealth Games before even stepping in the ring. 19 year old Taylah Robertson has scored a bye in Tuesday nights draw, propelling herself into the Commonwealth Games semi-finals of the seven-strong 51kg division.                                           
Win or lose Robertson will take home the bronze medal but faces a long and anxious wait before her first bout on April 13.

I think Taylah is a marvelous girl because she is brave when she fights in the ring for her country. I think she also deserves the bronze medal because she trained very hard to get to where she is now.

Duffy Award

Today at school we had reading. We were reading a book called ANZACs at Galipolli and we had to look for the definition for every word we didn't know. While searching we discovered there were multiple definitions for some of the words. We had to  pick one and give a reason for our choice.

I gave sensible reasons why I chose the meaning to lots of words.

Then we had lunch and played outside and then the bell rang and everyone went to the multi purpose room for our whole school assembly. When we were at the assembly the first thing we did was sing the New Zealand national anthem.

After that the prefects talked about being safe around roads, listening to your teacher and more. Lastly, we then had our Duffy awards and I received one.  I was so surprised and I got to choose a book to take home and read.

Fortnite Battle Royale

Fortnite is a complicated game to participate in. Fortnite is a game that nearly everyone plays on console or pc. The game its self has better graphics than Call of Duty Black Ops. Fortnite is in 3D and it is heading up to becoming one of the most popular games in the world.

Fortnite is set in contemporary Earth, where the sudden appearance of a worldwide storm causes 98% of the world's population to disappear, and zombie-like creatures rise to attack the remainder. 

One day, 98% of Earth's population suddenly disappeared, and the remaining population found the skies covered in dense clouds, creating chaotic storms that dropped husks, humanoid zombie-like creatures, that attacked the living.

Currently, Fortnite provides two distinct modes: a player-versus-environment Save the World, and a player-versus-player Battle Royale. Most missions are based on locating sites representing the places on the map.

 On July 26, 2017, it was announced that Fortnite had sold over 500,000 digital pre-order copies.
