Teachers Undertake The Mega Strike

Primary and Secondary school teachers have taken over the mega strike due to the reason of low payments.

In total there was around 50,000 teachers on strike and had failed to show up at school.

Most schools were closed and the teachers and government are still in negotiations to decide on how much the teachers will get payed

Earthquakes Struck White Island

There have been over 100  earthquakes hitting New Zealand. Most active volcano, GNS scientist have been saying " As the quakes have been getting stronger the volcano will continue to get stronger and ready to erupt ".

22 quakes have happened so far right now and the magnitude measured are 3 or over the highest is 3:9. 

 

ERO Powhiri

Today Ruapotaka had a powhiri for our special guests from ERO. We started with the welcoming of the people from ERO and also had a haka with it. Then there was a prayer from Tristan, Leaapeni and I. 

We were then lead of by three songs and then we had Mrs Hamilton come to talk to us. As soon as it was finished we had a Hungi from ERO, Mrs Hamilton and then from our Kapa Haka teacher Mrs Riley.
